About Brugel Gel 30 gm

Brugel Gel 30 gm belongs to the group of painkillers known as NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). It relieves pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis (a bone disorder that makes joints painful and stiff), ankylosing spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis (inflammation of the joints). Brugel Gel 30 gm is also used to reduce back pain.

Brugel Gel 30 gm contains 'Flurbiprofen,' an analgesic (that relieves pain) with anti-inflammatory properties. Brugel Gel 30 gm inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that further prevent the formation of chemical messengers called 'prostaglandins' (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the COX enzymes' effect, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Brugel Gel 30 gm is for external use only. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on the severity of your pain. Common side effects of Brugel Gel 30 gm include skin itching, redness, and swelling at the application site. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine before using Brugel Gel 30 gm. Inform your doctor if you have any existing disease conditions, including skin problems, before starting Brugel Gel 30 gm. It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother before using this medicine. Brugel Gel 30 gm should not be used in children unless prescribed by a doctor based on the child's age and weight.

Uses of Brugel Gel 30 gm

Pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and back pain.

Medicinal Benefits

Brugel Gel 30 gm contains the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug 'Flurbiprofen' (NSAID). It provides relief from pain, swelling, and joint stiffness. It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, preventing the formation of chemical messengers known as 'prostaglandins' (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at the site of an injury and cause pain and swelling. By inhibiting the effect of the COX enzymes, fewer PGs are produced, resulting in mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Osteoarthritis: It is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms of osteoarthritis include pain, stiffness, inflammation, and tenderness.

Rheumatoid arthritis: It is an autoimmune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue), leading to joint pain and damage. Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include pain, swelling, stiffness, deformities, and loss of joint function.

Ankylosing spondylitis: It causes pain and stiffness in the spine. The pain usually starts in the lower back and can spread to the neck, damaged joints, or other body parts. Symptoms include decreased flexibility, which usually leads to hunched-forward posture, and pain in the back and joints.
