About Dolentia Gel
Dolentia Gel belongs to a class of medications called 'topical analgesic' (pain killer) primarily used to relieve joint pain, low back pain, muscle sprain, and sports injuries. Besides this, it also reduces pain and swelling in muscles and joints in the conditions of joint disorders like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is a condition that causes swelling of one or more joints resulting in pain and stiffness of joints that worsen over time.
Dolentia Gel is a combination of three painkillers/analgesics (Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate) and one cooling agent (Menthol). Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) or pain killers that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain responsible for causing pain and symptoms of inflammation such as redness and swelling. Capsaicin is an analgesic that works by affecting the chemical messenger in the brain (neurotransmitter) that transmits pain signals to the brain thereby reducing the perception of pain. Menthol acts as a cooling agent that relieves pain initially by cooling the skin followed by warming it up. This action of cooling and warming up distracts from the pain and helps in improving blood circulation.
Dolentia Gel is only for external use. Use Dolentia Gel as advised by the doctor. Avoid contact of Dolentia Gel with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Dolentia Gel comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Your doctor will advise you on how often you use Dolentia Gel based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience redness, itching, irritation, or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Dolentia Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Dolentia Gel or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Dolentia Gel. Do not consume alcohol with Dolentia Gel as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Do not apply heat or wrap the treated area of the skin with bandages. Avoid using Dolentia Gel in more than prescribed doses, or on a large area of skin for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Do not apply the Dolentia Gel on cuts, wounds, or damaged skin. If you have asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, blood clots, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, stomach ulcers, edema (swelling due to fluid retention or overload), liver, kidney, or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Dolentia Gel.
