Feronia D3 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called 'haematinics' primarily used to prevent and treat anemia (lack of blood) that occurs due to iron deficiency. Also, it is used to treat iron deficiency anaemia during pregnancy and lactation. Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues. 

Feronia D3 Tablet contains Iron, Folic acid, Cyanocobalamin, Cholecalciferol and Pyridoxine. Iron and folic acid work by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. Cholecalciferol helps iron metabolism and the production of red blood cells. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and Cyanocobalamin are essential for the production and maturation of red blood cells. 

Take Feronia D3 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Feronia D3 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, constipation, flatulence (gas) and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Feronia D3 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Feronia D3 Tablet may have interaction with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, sodium valproate, carbamazepine), antibiotics (chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, trimethoprim), antimanic drug (lithium), water tablet (triamterene), anti-inflammatory drug (sulfasalazine), painkillers (aspirin), anticancer drug (methotrexate).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid intake of dairy products, coffee or tea with Feronia D3 Tablet at the same time as they may reduce the absorption of Feronia D3 Tablet .

Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have a vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or folate-dependent tumour, inform your doctor before taking Feronia D3 Tablet .

Feronia D3 Tablet works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC are produced in the body, so that body's each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.

You are not recommended to take Feronia D3 Tablet with coffee, tea or dairy products at the same time as they may reduce the absorption of Feronia D3 Tablet . However, you may drink coffee or tea 2 hours before or after taking Feronia D3 Tablet .

You are not recommended to take Feronia D3 Tablet with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the concentration of Feronia D3 Tablet in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits). However, please consult a doctor before taking Feronia D3 Tablet with phenytoin.

Feronia D3 Tablet is not recommended for hemochromatosis (excessive iron in the body) patients as it may increase the risk of adverse effects. Therefore, it is advised to inform your doctor if you have any iron overload conditions before taking Feronia D3 Tablet .

Feronia D3 Tablet may cause constipation as a temporary side effect. Eat fiber-rich foods and drink plenty of fluids if you have constipation. However, if the condition persists or worsens, please consult a doctor.
