Folimac Plus Tablet belongs to the class of 'multivitamins', primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is unable to absorb or get enough nutrients from food. It could lead to various health problems, including defective bone growth, skin disorders, digestive issues, and dementia (memory loss). 

Folimac Plus Tablet contains L-Methylfolate, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, and Methylcobalamin. L-Methylfolate helps in producing new blood cells and prevents low folate levels. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is a water-soluble vitamin involved in protein, fat, carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. 

Your doctor will decide the duration based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Folimac Plus Tablet may cause common side effects like nausea, stomach upset, and diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, please consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Folimac Plus Tablet is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It contains L-Methylfolate, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, and Methylcobalamin. L-Methylfolate helps the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats folate deficiency. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (vitamin B6) is involved in protein, fat, carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. It helps in cognitive development through the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters and maintains normal homocysteine (an amino acid in the blood) levels. Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) regulates body functions like cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. It may also help treat alcoholic, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage) and pernicious anaemia. Together, Folimac Plus Tablet helps treat nutritional deficiencies.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Folimac Plus Tablet may interact with anti-cancer drugs (altretamine) and fits medicines (phenytoin).

Drug-Food Interaction: Please limit/avoid alcohol while using Folimac Plus Tablet to ensure maximum absorption of nutrients.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Use Folimac Plus Tablet with medical advice if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food), heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, or allergic reactions to medicines.

• Try Vitamin B complex food sources like milk, cheese, eggs, chicken, red meat, tuna, mackerel, salmon, shellfish, oysters, clams, dark green vegetables such as spinach and kale, beets, avocados, potatoes, whole grains, cereals, kidney beans, black beans, and chickpea.
• Try folate-rich food sources like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid.
• Include fruits like citrus, banana, and watermelon in your diet.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.

• Clinical monitoring of vitamins B12 and B6 levels through blood examinations is recommended. 
• Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Folimac Plus Tablet since Pyridoxal-5-phosphate may interfere with laboratory tests like urine tests for urobilinogen.
