Folitrol Tablet belongs to the class of 'multivitamins', primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is unable to absorb or get enough nutrients from food. It could lead to various health problems, including defective bone growth, skin disorders, digestive issues, and dementia (memory loss). 

Folitrol Tablet contains L-Methylfolate Calcium, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate and Methylcobalamin. L-Methylfolate calcium helps in producing new blood cells and prevents low folate levels. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is a water-soluble vitamin involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism, formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. 

Your doctor will decide the duration based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Folitrol Tablet may cause common side effects like nausea, stomach upset, and diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Please consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Let your doctor know if you use any other medicines or herbal products before starting Folitrol Tablet . If you are allergic to Folitrol Tablet or its inactive components, please inform your doctor. If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother, please consult your doctor before taking Folitrol Tablet . Folitrol Tablet should not be given to children unless advised by a doctor. It is not known if alcohol interacts with Folitrol Tablet , so consult a doctor if you have any concerns.

Folitrol Tablet is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It contains L-Methylfolate calcium, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate and Methylcobalamin. L-Methylfolate calcium helps the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats folate deficiency. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (vitamin B6) is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism, formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. It helps in cognitive development through the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters and maintains normal homocysteine levels (an amino acid in the blood). Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) regulates body functions like cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. It treats alcoholic and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage) and pernicious anaemia.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Folitrol Tablet may interact with anti-cancer drugs (altretamine) and fits medicines (phenytoin).

Drug-Food Interaction: Please avoid alcohol while using Folitrol Tablet to ensure maximum absorption of nutrients.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Use Folitrol Tablet with medical advice if you have malabsorption syndrome, heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, and allergic reactions to medicines.

• Try Vitamin B complex food sources like milk, cheese, eggs, chicken, red meat, tuna, mackerel, salmon, shellfish, oysters, clams, dark green vegetables such as spinach and kale, beets, avocados, potatoes, whole grains, cereals, kidney beans, black beans, and chickpea.
• Try folate-rich food sources like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid.
• Sprinkle sunflower seeds over your food, vegetables and salads. 
• Include fruits like citrus, banana, and watermelon in your diet.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.

• Clinical monitoring of vitamins B12 and B6 levels through blood examinations is recommended. 
• Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Folitrol Tablet since Pyridoxal-5-phosphate may interfere with laboratory tests like urine tests for urobilinogen.
