Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm belongs to the group of medicines called probiotics used to treat and prevent diarrhoea, including rotaviral diarrhoea in children. Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).
 
Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii’, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm helps in treating diarrhoea. Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm helps restore the balance of intestinal bacterial flora and strengthens immunity and overall gut health.
 
You are advised to take Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. Sometimes, it may cause gas, bloating, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or herbal products before starting Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm. If you are known to be allergic to any of the components in Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm, please inform your doctor. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm.

Do not take Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have a weakened immune system, yeast allergy or if you are taking antifungal medicines. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Gutrite-SB Sachets 1 gm can be given to children if advised by a doctor.

• Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
• Include bland foods such as bananas, rice, apples, cream of wheat, soda crackers, farina, applesauce, and toast to avoid aggravating the digestive system.
• Avoid eating foods such as milk, dairy products, spicy foods, processed foods, pork, veal, sardines, raw vegetables, rhubarb, onions, corn, citrus fruits, alcohol, pineapples, cherries, seeded berries, grapes, caffeinated and carbonated drinks. 
• Eat fibre-rich food such as whole grains, lentils, beans, broccoli, and peas.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before eating while preparing or serving food.
