Logical Syrup 200 ml belongs to the class of ‘Multi-minerals’ primarily used to treat low blood calcium levels. It is used in the treatment of various conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body, such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone) and latent tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones). Logical Syrup 200 ml can also be given to pregnant, nursing, and postmenopausal women to ensure that they are getting enough calcium.

Logical Syrup 200 ml consists of three medicines, namely: Calcium carbonate (mineral), Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) and lysine (Amino Acid). Calcium carbonate is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintenance. Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) is used in the absorption of calcium in the blood. Which helps in the processing of essential minerals in the body like Calcium and Phosphorus. Lack of Vitamin D3 results in bone weakening, bone pain, and skin diseases. Lysine is a building block of essential proteins which improve appetite and digestion.

You are advised to take Logical Syrup 200 ml for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Logical Syrup 200 ml can cause side effects like diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain. Most of these side effects of Logical Syrup 200 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Call your doctor immediately if you notice little or no urinating, weight gain, high levels of calcium in the blood which can be detected by certain blood tests and the symptoms include nausea, constipation, increased thirst, muscle weakness, bone pain, confusion, or feeling tired.

If you are known to be allergic to Logical Syrup 200 ml or its inactive components, please inform your doctor. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Logical Syrup 200 ml. Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor. Logical Syrup 200 ml may pass into the breast milk, hence breastfeeding mothers need to seek medical advice before starting Logical Syrup 200 ml. Do not take Logical Syrup 200 ml if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), hypervitaminosis D (high vitamin D levels), and malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food).

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Logical Syrup 200 ml. Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor. Cholecalciferol in higher doses may harm the fetus. Logical Syrup 200 ml may pass into the breast milk, hence consult your doctor before taking Logical Syrup 200 ml if you are a breastfeeding mother. Logical Syrup 200 ml should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. Cholecalciferol in Logical Syrup 200 ml can affect growth in children. Inform your doctor if your child is not growing at a normal rate while using Logical Syrup 200 ml. Inform your doctor before using Logical Syrup 200 ml if you have kidney disease, kidney stones, cancer, parathyroid gland disorder, electrolyte imbalance.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Logical Syrup 200 ml may interact with aspirin (pain medication), Cymbalta and duloxetine (treat depression), and levothyroxine (treat thyroid hormone deficiency).

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have an electrolyte imbalance, renal dysfunction, hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), sarcoidosis (inflammatory disease), or malabsorption (unable to absorb nutrients from diet).

• Include dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese, or milk-based custard in your diet.
• Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, spinach, and other green leafy vegetables.
• Snack on calcium-rich nuts like Brazil nuts or almonds.
• Sprinkle sesame seeds over your food, vegetables, and salads. Sesame seeds are high in calcium.
• Avoid or reduce the intake of caffeine, soft drinks, and alcohol that inhibit calcium absorption.
• Replace the meat with tofu for extra calcium in your food.

• Clinical monitoring of serum electrolyte concentrations and cardiac function is recommended.
• A low phosphate diet is recommended to control serum phosphorus levels in patients undergoing dialysis.

Tetany: A disease condition due to low levels of calcium (hypocalcemia) in the body causes cramps and spasms in the hands, feet, and larynx (voice box).

Hypoparathyroidism: It is a disease characterized by low levels of parathyroid hormone. This can cause low calcium levels and trigger tetany.
