Orahelp Gel is a combination of two medicines, namely: Choline salicylate and lidocaine. Choline salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), whereas lidocaine is a local anesthetic. Orahelp Gel is primarily used to treat mouth ulcers. Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores, are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or gums' base.

Choline salicylate works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo‑oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical 'prostaglandins' (PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Lidocaine blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby helps in decreasing the pain sensations. Together, Orahelp Gel helps in treating mouth ulcers.

Use Orahelp Gel as suggested by the doctor. Take a small amount of medicine onto your finger and apply it directly onto the affected area. If Orahelp Gel comes in contact with eyes, rinse with water immediately. You are advised to use Orahelp Gel for as long as your doctor has suggested it for you, depending on your medical condition. No common side-effects have been reported with Orahelp Gel.

To treat your condition effectually, continue using Orahelp Gel for as long as your doctor has suggested it. Consult your doctor before using Orahelp Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Orahelp Gel in more than suggested doses or on a large skin area for a longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Do not use Orahelp Gel for treating children's mouth ulcers unless suggested by the doctor. Orahelp Gel mouth and throat products are generally very safe. People rarely have any side effects. However, as with all medicines, it is possible to be unexpectedly allergic to Orahelp Gel.

Do not use Orahelp Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents. Consult your doctor before using Orahelp Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Orahelp Gel in more than suggested doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration. Do not use Orahelp Gel for treating children's mouth ulcers unless suggested by the doctor. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve despite using Orahelp Gel for 2 weeks. Drug-Drug Interactions: Orahelp Gel may have interaction with painkillers (acetaminophen, hydrocodone), a local anaesthetic (prilocaine), and an inorganic compound (magnesium hydroxide).

Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Orahelp Gel may have interactions with teething pain, seizures, gastrointestinal toxicity, anaemia, coagulation, heart, kidney, and liver problems.

• Avoid eating foods that irritate mouth ulcers.
• Avoid acidic foods as they can irritate mouth ulcers.
• Include whole grains and alkaline fruits and vegetables,
• Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. Include multivitamins, especially B12, folate, zinc, and iron.
• Maintain good dental hygiene by brushing after meals and regular flossing.
• Gargling with salt water also helps in treating mouth ulcers.
• Apply ice or damp tea bags to numb the pain.
• Try natural remedies such as chamomile tea, Echinacea, myrrh, and liquorice root. 

• Clean and dry the affected area before using Orahelp Gel.
• If Orahelp Gel comes in contact with eyes rinse with water immediately.
• Wash your hands before and after using Orahelp Gel.
• To treat your condition effectually continue using Orahelp Gel for as long as your doctor has suggested it. 

Mouth ulcers: Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores, are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or at the base of gums. These can make you uncomfortable while eating, drinking, and talking. Mouth ulcers usually heal within a few weeks and are not contagious. People with a family history of canker sores are at more risk of developing mouth ulcers. Minor mouth injury from dental work or hard brushing, acidic foods, lack of essential vitamins, dental braces, emotional stress, viral, bacterial, or fungal infections could cause developing mouth ulcers.
