Otogesic Ear Drop belongs to the group of medicines called ‘otic agents’ used to relieve the symptoms of ear infections including minor pain, itching, and irritation. Ear infections can occur due to either bacterial or viral infections. An ear infection is an infection that arises in the middle ear, which is the air-filled area behind the eardrum that contains the ear's tiny vibrating bones.

Otogesic Ear Drop contains 4 Carboxymethylamino 4 Amino Diphenyl Sulphone, Dibucaine, and N N Dihydroxymethyl Carbamide. Otogesic Ear Drop effectively relieves the symptoms of ear infections by blocking the transmission of pain signals from the nerves to the brain. This helps to decrease the sensation of pain, and associated symptoms.

Otogesic Ear Drop is for external (ear) use only. You are advised to use Otogesic Ear Drop for as long as your doctor has suggested it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as stinging, burning sensation in the ear, ear discomfort, changes in taste, dizziness, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

• Avoid consuming foods that you are allergic to as it can cause the body to produce excess mucus leading to inflammation of the ear.
• Avoid getting things like shampoo, soap, water into the ear as it can cause itching.
• Do not poke or scratch the ear as it can cause damage to the ear canal, leading to inflammation. The inflamed skin can be infected by bacteria or fungi, which can cause infections in the ear.
• Wash your hands often.
• Do not use cotton swabs, bobby pins, or any other objects to remove earwax as it may push wax much deeper into the ear leading to ear damage.
• Never put cold water into your ear, and avoid spraying liquids with force into the ear.
• Consult an ENT regularly for early detection of any ear problems.
