About Polypex Tablet
Polypex Tablet belongs to a class of 'haematinics,' primarily used to treat iron deficiency and anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Iron deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (during pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells for carrying the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
Polypex Tablet contains 'Elemental Iron,' an essential body mineral. It is a nutritional supplement required by the red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. By combining with a protein in the blood called haemoglobin, iron helps carry adequate oxygen to various body parts. Polypex Tablet also has immunity-enhancing, anti-carcinogenic (preventing cancer), and cognition-enhancing properties.
Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. In some cases, it may cause side effects like constipation, diarrhoea, stomach cramps, dark stools, loss of appetite, and upset stomach. Most of these side effects of Polypex Tablet do not require any medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Co-administration of Polypex Tablet with Mycophenolic acid decreases levels of Mycophenolate by reducing its absorption.
How to manage the interaction:
There could be a possible interaction between Mycophenolic acid and Polypex Tablet, but they can be taken together if a doctor has prescribed them. However, if you experience upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation sleep problems, fatigue, headache, painful urination, high blood pressure, or swelling of the lower legs, ankles, or feet, joint pain, cough, or shortness of breath consult a doctor. Do not discontinue any medications without a doctor's advice.
Taking dolutegravir with Polypex Tablet can reduce the effectiveness of dolutegravir.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Polypex Tablet and Dolutegravir, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by a doctor. It is advised to take dolutegravir either two hours before or six hours after taking a dose of Polypex Tablet. Do not discontinue using any medications without consulting a doctor.
Co-administration of Dimercaprol can make Polypex Tablet, which may increase the risk of toxicity of the kidneys.
