Rafdonac Gel

Rafdonac Gel belongs to the class of medications called topical analgesics primarily used to relieve acute musculoskeletal pain and osteoarthritis. It effectively reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness, thereby improving your ability to move and flex the joint. Osteoarthritis is a long term musculoskeletal joint disorder that causes damage to the cartilage and surrounding tissues characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness, and loss of function.

Rafdonac Gel contains diclofenac, linseed oil, methyl salicylate, and menthol. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate work by lowering hormones in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Linseed oil inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels. Together, Rafdonac Gel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in musculoskeletal and joint conditions.

Rafdonac Gel is only for external use. Use Rafdonac Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. The majority of these side effects do not necessitate medical attention and will subside gradually over time. However, if you are experiencing these side effects regularly, you should consult your doctor.

Please do not use Rafdonac Gel without doctor advice if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Rafdonac Gel in more than prescribed doses or longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines to rule out any side effects. Do not take any other NSAID's for pain relief along with Rafdonac Gel unless prescribed. Rafdonac Gel is not recommended for children below 14years as safety and efficacy have not been established.

Rafdonac Gel is a combination of four drugs: Diclofenac, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate, and Menthol. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Rafdonac Gel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in musculoskeletal and joint conditions.

Do not take Rafdonac Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines you take to rule out any side effects. Do not use Rafdonac Gel if you experience asthma, urticaria or allergy after taking a pain killer. Do not take any other pain killers for pain relief along with Rafdonac Gel unless prescribed. Drug-Drug Interactions: Rafdonac Gel may have interaction with pain killer medicines (e.g. aspirin), blood thinners or anticoagulant medicines (e.g. warfarin), and medicines used for the treatment of venous thrombosis (e.g. anisindione, dicumarol).

Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have had asthma, urticaria (a skin reaction), renal dysfunction or impairment, heart failure, hypertension, and coagulation problems.

• Exercising regularly helps in muscle stretching so that they are less likely to spasm, tear and sprain. Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.
• Massages can also be helpful.
• Avoid freezing and hot temperatures.
• Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes; instead, wear loose garments.
• Rest well, get plenty of sleep.
• To avoid developing pressure sores, change your position at least every two hours.
• Hot or cold therapy can help treat muscle spasms. Apply an ice-pack or hot-pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.
• Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water.

• Do not apply on open wounds, cuts, abrasions or infected wounds.
• Do not use any bandages after application of Rafdonac Gel unless suggested by your doctor.
• Avoid contact of Rafdonac Gel with eyes and mucous membranes. If contact occurs wash with water immediately

Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is a long term musculoskeletal joint disorder that causes damage to the cartilage and surrounding tissues characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness, and loss of function. This joint disorder becomes common with ageing and wear and tear of joints.
