About RND Folica-OD Tablet
RND Folica-OD Tablet belongs to a class of medications called 'vitamins' used to treat or prevent anaemia (lack of blood) caused due to deficiency of folic acid, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells, anaemia in kidney dialysis patients and anaemia that occurs as a side effect of certain medicines. RND Folica-OD Tablet may be used in women before and during pregnancy to prevent spina bifida (abnormality of the spine) in babies. Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
The RND Folica-OD Tablet contains Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) that increases healthy red blood cell (RBC) production in the body that carries oxygen throughout the body. As a result, an adequate amount of haemoglobin (Hb) is produced in the body so that body's each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.
Take RND Folica-OD Tablet as recommended by your doctor. You may experience nausea, black stool, constipation, loss of appetite, bloating or flatulence (gas) in some cases. Most of these side effects of RND Folica-OD Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to RND Folica-OD Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using RND Folica-OD Tablet . RND Folica-OD Tablet should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. If you have an allergy to any sugars, inform your doctor before taking RND Folica-OD Tablet as it may contain lactose. If you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or folate-dependent tumour, inform your doctor before taking RND Folica-OD Tablet .

If you are allergic to RND Folica-OD Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking RND Folica-OD Tablet if you have cancer. RND Folica-OD Tablet should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. If you are breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before using RND Folica-OD Tablet . If you have pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12), a tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure, inform your doctor before taking RND Folica-OD Tablet . You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 2 hours between taking RND Folica-OD Tablet and indigestion remedies such as antacids containing magnesium or aluminium and edible clay. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any sugars as RND Folica-OD Tablet contains lactose.

Coadministration of RND Folica-OD Tablet and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of RND Folica-OD Tablet.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between RND Folica-OD Tablet and Carbamazepine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if your condition changes or you experience loss of seizure control, contact your doctor.
Sulfadiazine may decrease the blood levels and effects of RND Folica-OD Tablet.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between RND Folica-OD Tablet and Sulfadiazine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor.
Coadministration of RND Folica-OD Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between RND Folica-OD Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of RND Folica-OD Tablet.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between RND Folica-OD Tablet and Trimethoprim, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting your doctor.
Co-administration of RND Folica-OD Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between RND Folica-OD Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Coadministration of RND Folica-OD Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of RND Folica-OD Tablet.
