Seboclear Lotion 50 ml belongs to a class of dermatological preparations used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes redness and scaly patches on oily areas of the body, such as the scalp, face, back and upper chest. Psoriasis is a chronic (long-term) skin condition in which skin cells multiply faster than usual, resulting in white scales and itchy, dry patches.
Seboclear Lotion 50 ml contains cade oil (antimicrobial agent), coaltar (keratolytic agent), ketoconazole (antifungal) and salicylic acid (peeling agent and anti-inflammatory). Cade oil possess antiseptic, antimicrobial and fungicidal properties and helps fight skin infections. Salicylic acid and coal tar are keratolytic agents that work by breaking down a protein known as keratin (that forms part of skin structure) which removes dead skin cell, peel dead cells of the skin, and softens skin. Thus, it helps in the treatment of psoriasis. Ketoconazole works by damaging fungal cell membranes that are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. Thus, it kills fungi.
Use Seboclear Lotion 50 ml as advised. Some people may experience mild skin irritation or itching, or peeling. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to ketoconazole, salicylic acid, coal tar, cade oil or any other ingredients, please inform your doctor. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding woman, please consult a doctor before using Seboclear Lotion 50 ml. Do not apply it on open wounds, windburned, sunburned, irritated, or dry skin.

Seborrheic dermatitis: It is a common skin condition that causes redness and scaly patches on oily areas of the body, such as the scalp, face, back and upper chest. It may also cause stubborn dandruff. It is mostly caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast (a substance normally found in the skin) that triggers inflammation, causing changes in the skin. The treatment includes medicated lotions, shampoos, creams and self-care.
Psoriasis: It is a chronic (long-term) skin condition in which skin cells multiply faster than normal, resulting in white scales, itchy and dry patches on the skin. It is an autoimmune condition in which our body cells mistakenly attack skin cells, causing allergic conditions like scale formation, plaques on the red patches, and red, bumpy, inflamed patches of the skin.
