About Sofracen 1% Cream

Sofracen 1% Cream belongs to the group of aminoglycoside antibiotics used to treat various skin conditions or infections caused by bacteria, including burns, scalds (injure with very hot liquid or steam), wounds, ulcers, boils, furunculosis (boils), impetigo (bacterial infection of the skin), sycosis barbae (an inflammatory disorder of follicular and perifollicular skin), paronychia (inflammation of the skin around the nail), otitis externa (An infection of the outer ear canal) and secondary infections in scabies and lice. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiply very quickly.

Sofracen 1% Cream contains Framycetin, which works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Thus, Sofracen 1% Cream treats bacterial skin infections.

Sofracen 1% Cream is for external use only. Some people may experience side effects like itching, redness, burning sensation and allergic reactions. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Avoid using Sofracen 1% Cream if you are allergic to any of its components or other aminoglycoside antibiotics (neomycin, kanamycin, paromomycin).
