Ultitar CS Ointment is a combination medicine used to treat psoriasis. Additionally, Ultitar CS Ointment may also be used to treat seborrheic dermatitis. Psoriasis is a skin condition in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than usual, leading to skin build-up into bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales. Seborrheic dermatitis is a skin condition which causes an itchy rash with flaky scales.
 
Ultitar CS Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Clobetasol, Coal tar, and Salicylic acid. Clobetasol works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Coal tar and salicylic acid help break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin. Together, Ultitar CS Ointment helps in treating psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis.
 
You are advised to use Ultitar CS Ointment for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
 
Do not use Ultitar CS Ointment if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Ultitar CS Ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Ultitar CS Ointment in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. • Clean and dry the affected area before using Ultitar CS Ointment.
• Do not use Ultitar CS Ointment on dressing, band-aids, and make-up unless told by the doctor.
• If Ultitar CS Ointment comes in contact with eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with water immediately.
• Wash your hands before and after using Ultitar CS Ointment. However, do not wash your hands if you are applying Ultitar CS Ointment on your hands.
• Do not apply Ultitar CS Ointment on wounds, cuts, damaged skin, or scrapes.
