Wax-GO Ear Drops 10 ml is a combination medicine used to treat pain and inflammation associated with ear infections caused by bacteria and fungi. An ear infection occurs when fungi or bacteria affect the middle or outer ear, leading to pain and inflammation. Infection of the middle ear (air-filled space behind the eardrum) is known as otitis media whereas the inflammation of the external/outer ear canal that runs from the eardrum to the outside of the head is known as otitis externa.
Wax-GO Ear Drops 10 ml contains Chloramphenicol (antibiotic), Clotrimazole (antifungal), Beclomethasone (steroid), and Lidocaine (local anaesthetic). Chloramphenicol kills the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for the survival of bacteria. Clotrimazole kills the fungi by breaking down the fungal cell wall/protective covering. Beclomethasone reduces inflammation by blocking the chemical messengers that cause inflammation. Lidocaine decreases pain sensation by blocking the pain signals from the nerves to the brain. Together, Wax-GO Ear Drops 10 ml treats infections of the ear.
Wax-GO Ear Drops 10 ml is for otic use only. You are advised to use Wax-GO Ear Drops 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching, swelling, redness and stinging sensation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
