Amoflox Eye Drop contains Ofloxacin used to treat bacterial eye infections. Amoflox Eye Drop inhibits DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Amoflox Eye Drop as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Amoflox Eye Drop and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Amoflox Eye Drop. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Amoflox Eye Drop.

Amoflox Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

Amoflox Eye Drop is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Amoflox Eye Drop is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

You are not recommended to stop using Amoflox Eye Drop without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Amoflox Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Amoflox Eye Drop, please consult your doctor.
