Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's works by reducing the excessive production of abnormal blood cells and stimulates the growth of normal, mature cells in blood and bone marrow. Thus, helps in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukaemia.

You are recommended to avoid pregnancy while taking Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's and for 1 month after stopping treatment with Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's as it may cause the birth of the deformed baby. Therefore, you are advised to use effective contraceptive measures while taking Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's and for 1 month after stopping treatment with Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's to prevent pregnancy. Also, women using Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's should take a pregnancy test every month and if you become pregnant while taking Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's, inform your doctor immediately.

Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's may cause dizziness as a temporary side effect. Therefore, drive only if you are alert after taking Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's.

You are not recommended to take low-dose progestogens (mini pill) with Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's as their effectiveness may be reduced. However, discuss with your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this so that a different oral contraceptive may be prescribed.

Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's may cause painful swelling in the leg in a few patients. If you experience painful swelling in your leg, difficulty breathing or sudden chest pain while taking Ca-Astrans-10 mg Capsule 30's, please inform your doctor immediately as these might be signs of a blood clot.
