Cefax CV Dry Syrup belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ear, throat, lungs, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Cefax CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefixime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefixime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections. Clavulanic acid works by enhancing the activity of cefixime against bacteria and decreases bacterial resistance. Together, Cefax CV Dry Syrup helps to treat bacterial infections. Cefax CV Dry Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
