Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule is a combination of two drugs: Esomeprazole and Domperidone. Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and stomach ulcers. It may also be indicated in the treatment of nausea, vomiting, fullness of the stomach, belching, heavy bloating, heartburn, acidity, gas, upper abdominal pain, erosive oesophagitis, and swallowing problems. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks an enzyme called gastric proton pump, responsible for acid production. Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist which works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscles. Together, Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule helps in treating acidity-related problems.

Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule contains Esomeprazole and Domperidone. Esomeprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule . Drink enough fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you experience excessive diarrhoea or if you find blood in your stools.
Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acid reflux. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This helps in preventing acid reflux.
Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule . Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might help stimulate saliva and thereby prevent drying of the mouth.
Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule contains domperidone which helps in treating nausea and vomiting by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscles.
Do not take Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve even after taking Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule for 14days.
Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule should not be taken along with HIV medicines such as atazanavir, ritonavir, nelfinavir, and saquinavir as Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule might affect their absorption. Consult your doctor before taking Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule with other medicines to avoid unpleasant side-effects.
On long-term treatment, Esoben-DSR 40/30 Capsule might increase the risk of bone fracture in the spine, wrist or hip. Inform your doctor if you have osteoporosis or if you are taking corticosteroids, as they can increase the risk of bone fractures.
