Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml contains Ofloxacin used to treat bacterial eye infections. Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml inhibits DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.
Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.
You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml.
Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.
You are not recommended to stop using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml, please consult your doctor.
