About Abirosted Tablet

Abirosted Tablet is an anti-androgen medicine used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It is used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (a condition where cancer does not get controlled with hormonal therapy) and metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (a condition where cancer has spread to other parts of the body but can be controlled) in men. Prostate cancer is a condition that occurs when the prostate gland cells increase abnormally. Symptoms may include difficulty in urinating, pain, numbness, etc.

Abirosted Tablet contains Abiraterone acetate, which belongs to the class of androgen biosynthesis inhibitors. Testosterone is a natural hormone produced by the body. This causes an increase in cancer cells in the prostate gland. Abirosted Tablet works by inhibiting the production of the testosterone hormone and thus stops the growth and spread of cancer.

Abirosted Tablet may cause certain side effects such as nausea, dizziness, heartburn, headache, diarrhoea, muscle weakness, joint pain, confusion, hot flushes, loss of appetite and groin pain. These side effects usually disappear without any medical attention. However, if these side effects persist, inform your doctor. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. It should be taken on an empty stomach at least 2 hours before or after meals. Your doctor will decide the dose of the medicine based on the severity of your disease.

Abirosted Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing or a history of liver/kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, adrenocortical insufficiency, hypokalemia, hypoglycaemia, fluid retention before taking Abirosted Tablet . Abirosted Tablet is not recommended for use in women and children as the safety and efficacy of this medicine are not established. Managing Medication-Triggered UTIs: A Comprehensive Approach:
  • Inform your doctor about the medication you're taking and the UTI symptoms you're experiencing.
  • Your doctor may adjust your medication regimen or consider alternative medications or dosages that may reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) to help flush out bacteria. Avoid sugary drinks and caffeine, which can exacerbate UTI symptoms.
  • Urinate when you feel the need rather than holding it in. This can help prevent bacterial growth and reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Consider cranberry supplements: Cranberry supplements may help prevent UTIs by preventing bacterial adhesion.
  • Monitor UTI symptoms and report any changes to your doctor.
  • If antibiotics are prescribed, take them as directed and complete the full course.
Here are the steps to manage the medication-triggered Upper respiratory tract infection:
  • Inform your doctor about the symptoms you're experiencing due to medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your treatment plan, which could include changing your medication, adding new medications, or offering advice on managing your symptoms.
  • Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with others, and avoiding sharing utensils or personal items.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids to help loosen and clear mucus from your nose, throat, and airways.
  • Get plenty of rest and engage in stress-reducing activities to help your body recover. If your symptoms don't subside or worsen, consult your doctor for further guidance.
Here are the steps to manage the medication-triggered Cough:
  • Tell your doctor about the cough symptoms you're experiencing, which may be triggered by your medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your treatment plan by changing your medication, adding new medications, or providing guidance on managing your cough symptoms.
  • Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with others, and avoiding sharing utensils or personal items.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, such as water, tea, or soup, to help thin out mucus and soothe your throat.
  • Get plenty of rest and engage in stress-reducing activities to help your body recover. If your cough persists or worsens, consult your doctor for further guidance.
Here are the precise steps to cope with diarrhoea caused by medication usage:
  • Inform Your Doctor: Notify your doctor immediately about your diarrhoea symptoms. This allows them to adjust your medication or provide guidance on managing side effects.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids to replace lost water and electrolytes. Choose water, clear broth, and electrolyte-rich drinks. Avoid carbonated or caffeinated beverages to effectively rehydrate your body.
  • Follow a Bland Diet: Eat easy-to-digest foods to help firm up your stool and settle your stomach. Try incorporating bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, plain crackers, and boiled vegetables into your diet.
  • Avoid Trigger Foods: Steer clear of foods that can worsen diarrhoea, such as spicy, fatty, or greasy foods, high-fibre foods, and dairy products (especially if you're lactose intolerant).
  • Practice Good Hygiene: Maintain good hygiene to prevent the spread of infection. To stay healthy, wash your hands frequently, clean and disinfect surfaces regularly, and avoid exchanging personal belongings with others.
  • Take Anti-Diarrheal Medications: If your doctor advises, anti-diarrheal medications such as loperamide might help manage diarrhoea symptoms. Always follow your doctor's directions.
  • Keep track of your diarrhoea symptoms. If they don't get better or worse or are accompanied by severe stomach pain, blood, or dehydration signs (like extreme thirst or dark urine), seek medical help.
Here are the step-by-step strategies to manage the side effects of "indigestion" caused by medication usage:
  • Take medications with food (if recommended): It can help prevent stomach distress and indigestion.
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals: Divide daily food intake into smaller, more frequent meals to ease digestion.
  • Avoid trigger foods: Identify and avoid foods that trigger indigestion, such as spicy, fatty, or acidic foods.
  • Stay upright after eating: Sit or stand upright for at least 1-2 hours after eating to prevent stomach acid from flowing into the oesophagus.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks: Avoid drinking carbonated beverages, such as soda or beer, which can worsen indigestion.
  • Manage stress: To alleviate indigestion, engage in stress-reducing activities like deep breathing exercises or meditation.
  • Consult a doctor if needed: If indigestion worsens or persists, consult a healthcare professional to adjust the medication regimen or explore alternative treatments.
  • Reduce salt intake to minimize fluid buildup.
  • Use compression stockings, sleeves, or gloves.
  • Gently massage the affected area towards the heart.
  • Protect the swollen area from injury and keep it clean.
  • Use lotion or cream to keep the skin moisturized.
