AFF Tablet 10's is a combination of Lipid-lowering agents and Vitamins. It is used to lower the high cholesterol or increased cholesterol levels and triglycerides in the blood when a low-fat diet and lifestyle modifications have failed. High cholesterol is a condition in which you have too many lipids (fats) in your blood. It is also called hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolemia.
AFF Tablet 10's contains Atorvastatin, Fenofibrate and Folic Acid. Atorvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL), while Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood. Additionally, they raise 'good' cholesterol (HDL) levels. Folic Acid reduces the levels of a harmful substance (homocysteine), thereby decreasing cholesterol synthesis.
Take AFF Tablet 10's as prescribed. Your doctor will advise how often you take AFF Tablet 10's based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience hyperglycemia (excess of glucose in the bloodstream), nausea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, headaches and muscle pain. Most of these side effects of AFF Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, contact your doctor.
It is recommended not to take AFF Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any components present in it. Do not take AFF Tablet 10's on your own if you are pregnant or a nursing mother unless prescribed by the doctor. Keep your doctor informed about your medical condition and all the medicines you are taking before taking AFF Tablet 10's to rule out any side effects. Consuming alcohol along with AFF Tablet 10's is not advisable.
AFF Tablet 10's is a combination of two Lipid-lowering agents and a Vitamin. It effectively lowers your body's high cholesterol levels. Lowering your cholesterol levels reduces your risk of heart disease and allows you to live a healthier life for longer. It also contains nutritional supplements that are necessary for overall health improvement. To maximize this medicine's effectiveness, take it regularly and make appropriate lifestyle changes (such as eating healthy and staying active).
Before taking the AFF Tablet 10's, let your doctor know about all your medical conditions (especially liver or kidney disease, cholelithiasis or gallstones, anaemia and muscle problems), sensitivities or allergic conditions, and all medications you are using. And also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Avoid drinking alcohol while on this medication, as it can raise triglyceride levels and may increase your risk of liver damage. If you notice any persistent side effects, please consult a doctor immediately.
Drug-Drug interactions: AFF Tablet 10's interacts with other cholesterol-lowering medications (e.g. rosuvastatin, simvastatin), oral anticoagulants (e.g. dicumarol, warfarin) and medicines used to treat high levels of cortisol (e.g. levoketoconazole).
Drug-Food interactions: Avoid AFF Tablet 10's with food items containing grape juice as well as fatty products.
Drug-Disease interactions: AFF Tablet 10's should be used with caution in patients with liver disease (jaundice, biliary cirrhosis), kidney disease, cholelithiasis (gallstones), anaemia and muscle problems (myasthenia gravis, rhabdomyolysis).
High cholesterol: Cholesterol is a waxy substance produced by the liver to protect nerves, make tissue, and various hormones. Our body also receives cholesterol from food, like cooking oils, eggs, meats, and dairy products. Excess cholesterol is bad for our health. There are two types of cholesterol: ' bad cholesterol' and 'good cholesterol'. Bad cholesterol comprises low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides (TG), while good cholesterol consists of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Usually, there are no specific symptoms of raised or high cholesterol levels but a large deposition of cholesterol in the arteries (plaque) or heart blockage. Blocked artery or plaque formation in the heart's arteries can lead to chest pain (angina), heart attack, or stroke. So it is advisable to have complete cholesterol tests (lipid profile tests) at least once a year. It will help you closely monitor your heart health and risk of heart attack and stroke.
