Ampimet 500mg Capsule contains Ampicillin that works against various types of bacteria. It inhibits the process of bacterial cell wall synthesis that is required for its survival. Thus, Ampimet 500mg Capsule kills bacteria and prevents the growth of bacterial infection.
Ampimet 500mg Capsule should be taken 30 minutes before food or 2 hours after food, on an empty stomach. Ampimet 500mg Capsule may cause certain common side effects such as injection site reactions, rash, vomiting, allergic reaction, vaginal itching, or discharge, nausea, and diarrhea. Most of these side effects are mild and subside over time. However, if these persist contact your doctor immediately.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Ampimet 500mg Capsule should not be given with Typhoid vaccine (live), cephalosporin antibiotics such as cefaclor, cefadroxil, cefazolin, cefixime, cefpodoxime, cefprozil, cephalexin; allopurinol/ probenecid (used to treat gout).
Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Ampimet 500mg Capsule as it can cause serious side effects.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Ampimet 500mg Capsule should not be used in patients with Renal dysfunction, colitis (inflammation of the colon) and hemodialysis.
