About Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR

Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR belongs to the class of anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning/antiplatelet agents. Its use varies according to its strength. In a low dose (about 75 mg), Aspirin acts as a blood-thinning or antiplatelet agent used to prevent heart attack and stroke. On the other hand, in high dose (about 325 mg) acts as an analgesic, relieving minor aches, pains and fevers. Your doctor may also prescribe Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR immediately after a heart attack to prevent further clots and heart tissue death. A heart attack generally refers to the blocked flow of blood due to blocked arteries. This blockage is due to the build-up of fat, cholesterol and other substances (plaque) in arteries.

Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR plays a vital role in the thinning of blood by its anti-platelet activity to decrease the risk of blood clot formation and subsequent heart attack. Low-dose aspirin makes the blood less sticky, preventing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Besides this, it inhibits the activity of the cyclooxygenase (COX) and prostaglandins (PGs) that cause inflammation, swelling, pain and fever.

You can take Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR with food or without food. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR can be given through oral and rectal routes. In some cases, you may experience stomach upset, heartburn, drowsiness, mild headache, ankle swelling (oedema), slow heart rate, and nausea. Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR is known to cause dizziness, so driving should be avoided. Most of these side effects of Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

You should avoid drinking alcohol, taking painkillers (ibuprofen, ketorolac) and the abortion pill (mifepristone) with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR as together it can increase your risk of stomach or gastric bleeding. Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR should not be given to children with flu, fever, or chickenpox until the doctor has prescribed it. Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR can cause Reye's syndrome (a rare but serious condition with swelling in the brain and liver common in children and teenagers). Do not use Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR during the last trimester of pregnancy due to possible harm to the unborn baby. Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR passes into the breast milk and may harm the nursing infant. So tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding mother before taking Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR. Many people using Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR do not have serious side effects. However, tell your doctor if you have stomach upset, mild indigestion, easy bruising or bleeding, difficulty in hearing, ringing in the ears, dark urine, change in the amount of urine, persistent or severe nausea/vomiting, unexplained tiredness, dizziness, and yellowing of eyes/skin (jaundice). Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding (from the stomach/intestine), intracranial bleeding (bleeding in the brain) or other areas of the body. So, after consulting a doctor only, you should take Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR.

ASPIRIN-50MGOther disorders of kidney and ureter, not elsewhere classified
Severe
How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
The kidney is responsible for eliminating virtually all salicylate and its metabolites. Patients with renal impairment should receive therapy with salicylate medications carefully, especially if the impairment is severe. It might be required to use lower doses to prevent drug buildup. Since the use of salicylate medicines has seldom been linked to renal toxicities such as elevations in blood creatinine, renal papillary necrosis, and acute tubular necrosis with renal failure, clinical monitoring of renal function is advised during extended therapy.

How to manage the interaction:
Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR should be taken cautiously if you already have reduced kidney function, as kidneys are mainly involved in eliminating Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR and its metabolites.

Reye's syndrome risk has been associated with the use of salicylates, especially Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR, in kids with varicella infections or influenza-like illnesses.

How to manage the interaction:
The use of Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR in children, teenagers with known or suspected varicella or influenza- like disease should be used with precaution as it is associated with greater risk of Reye’s syndrome. under such circumstances an appropriate alternative can be used.
ASPIRIN-50MGOther anaemias
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR's local action on the GI mucosa causes occult, frequently asymptomatic GI blood loss, which happens rather frequently when the medication is used as prescribed. This kind of bleeding might occasionally result in iron-deficiency anemia with persistent therapy. At typical dosages, other salicylates allegedly cause little to no GI blood loss, but large amounts may. Patients who have anemia or are at risk of developing it should use salicylates, especially Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR, with caution. Hematocrit should be monitored often.

How to manage the interaction:
If you are anaemic or predisposed to anaemia Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR should be used cautiously, in such case your doctor will monitor your haemoglobin levels.
ASPIRIN-50MGCare involving dialysis
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
Hemodialysis and, to a lesser extent, peritoneal dialysis are also effective methods for removing salicylate and its metabolites. Either more doses should be given following dialysis, or doses should be scheduled for administration after dialysis.

How to manage the interaction:
Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR and its metabolites are readily removed by hemodialysis and, to a lesser extent, by peritoneal dialysis. Therefore you are advised to take Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR after a hemodialysis session
ASPIRIN-50MGAnaemia due to enzyme disorders

How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
Patients with pyruvate kinase or glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) impairment may experience hemolysis as a result of salicylates, notably Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR.

How to manage the interaction:
You are advised to take Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR with extreme caution if you have a past history of pyruvate kinase or glucose- 6 phosphate dehydrogenase enzymes deficiency as they may cause or aggravate bleeding.
ASPIRIN-50MGToxic liver disease
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
Serum transaminases, alkaline phosphatases, and/or bilirubin increases are the most common signs of acute, reversible hepatotoxicity associated with salicylate usage. A few patients have also reported experiencing liver damage consistent with persistent active hepatitis, which, in rare cases, led to dementia or death. In these patients, salicylate therapy, especially when given in large dosages, should be taken with caution, and routine liver function testing is advised.

How to manage the interaction:
If you have preexisting liver injury, active systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatic fever higher doses of Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR should be taken cautiously as their use has occasionally been associated with acute, reversible liver toxicity. under such instances you will be periodically monitored for liver functions by your doctor.
ASPIRIN-50MGAsthma
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR 50mg Tablet DR:
In patients who have previously experienced asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after taking Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR or other NSAIDs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) are contraindicated; serious, occasionally deadly, anaphylactic reactions to NSAIDs have been recorded in such patients.

How to manage the interaction:
Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR can induce serious allergic reactions such as:hives, swelling of the face, shock, wheezing (asthma). If you have ever had an adverse response to Aspirin 50mg Tablet DR or any other pain reliever/fever reducer, Consult your doctor before using.

Disease/Condition Glossary

A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked due to the deposition of plaque (fat/cholesterol) in the arteries wall (coronary arteries) that nourish the heart. In some cases, plaque can rupture and form a blood clot that blocks blood flow. On the other hand, a stroke is a medical emergency condition in which blood supply to the brain is reduced or blocked, preventing brain cells (neurons) from getting sufficient oxygen and nutrients. As a result, brain cells begin to die in few minutes.
