Additionally, Byeworm 200mg Syrup is also used to treat infections caused by roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, flukes, and other parasites.
Byeworm 200mg Syrup contains ‘Albendazole’, which works by inhibiting tubulin polymerisation. This causes metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, which leads to its immobilisation. Thereby, Byeworm 200mg Syrup kills the susceptible helminth and treats the infection.
Take Byeworm 200mg Syrup as prescribed. You are advised to take Byeworm 200mg Syrup for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

For neurocysticercosis, Byeworm 200mg Syrup is usually prescribed for 8-30 days. For cystic hydatid disease, Byeworm 200mg Syrup is usually prescribed for 28 days, followed by a 14 day break, and repeated for a total of 3 cycles.
Do not discontinue Byeworm 200mg Syrup without consulting your doctor. To treat your condition effectually continue taking Byeworm 200mg Syrup for as long as prescribed. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you feel any difficulty while taking Byeworm 200mg Syrup.
You are recommended to avoid planning for pregnancy while taking Byeworm 200mg Syrup as it may cause foetal harm. A pregnancy test should be done before starting the treatment with Byeworm 200mg Syrup, and women must use effective birth-control while taking Byeworm 200mg Syrup and for at least 1month after cessation of treatment.
Regular monitoring of blood count at the beginning of each cycle therapy and for every 2weeks while taking Byeworm 200mg Syrup is advised for all patients. Treatment with Byeworm 200mg Syrup should be discontinued if a significant decrease in blood cell count is observed.
Treatment with Byeworm 200mg Syrup has been associated with mild to moderate elevations of liver enzymes. These elevations generally return to normal upon discontinuation of Byeworm 200mg Syrup. Liver function tests should be performed before each treatment cycle and for every 2weeks during the treatment. Treatment with Byeworm 200mg Syrup should be discontinued if the liver enzymes exceed twice the upper limit of normal.
