About Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's

Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's belongs to a class of drugs called anti-emetics. It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (anti-cancer medicines) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's contains Aprepitant, a neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist which works by blocking the neurokinin-1 receptor (causes the feeling of sickness) present in the vomiting centre in the brain. Thus, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Take Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's as prescribed. You are recommended to take Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's for as long as your doctor has advised it. In some cases, Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's may cause common side effects such as headache, constipation, loss of appetite, tiredness, indigestion, and hiccups. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, consult your doctor immediately if the side effects persist or worsen.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's or any other medicines. Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's is not recommended for children below 12 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule 1's. APREPITANT-205MGAlcoholic liver disease
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule:
The liver is primarily responsible for Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule metabolism. Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule was well tolerated in investigations of patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5 to 9), and no clinically significant changes in its pharmacokinetics were seen. As a result, there is no need to change the dosage of Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule in this patient population. Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score > 9), as there is no clinical or pharmacokinetic data in this population.

How to manage the interaction:
Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule is metabolized by the liver, hence it is usually not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease as it can increase the Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule level in the body. Increased levels can increase the risk and severity of Caitosa-Kit 125/80 Capsule side effects. However, you can take it when advised by your doctor. If you experience headache, fatigue, low appetite, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and hiccups contact your doctor immediately. Do not discontinue any medications without first consulting your doctor.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Nausea and vomiting: Nausea is an uneasiness in the stomach that usually precedes vomiting. Vomiting, on the other hand, is a normal bodily response in which a person desires to evacuate stomach contents from the mouth aggressively. In brief, nausea and vomiting are symptoms of a variety of disorders, including infections, motion sickness, an early stage of pregnancy, and gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying). Vomiting is controlled by a receptor in the brain known as the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ). After chemotherapy and radiation therapy, nausea and vomiting are common side effects. It can also arise as a side effect of an operation or surgery. Controlling vomiting and nausea in cancer patients is critical for conducting daily tasks. It can cause mental abnormalities, lack of appetite, malnutrition, and dehydration if not managed.
