About Cardirus Gel
Cardirus Gel is used to promote the healing of the incision in the skin of the anus (anal fissure) and reduce the symptoms of pain caused by the incision. An anal fissure is an incision in the anus or anal canal lining. The sign of an anal fissure is pain during or after a bowel movement.
Cardirus Gel contains diltiazem which works by relaxing the muscle around the anus (anal sphincter), reducing anal pressure and increasing blood flow to the area for healing.
In some cases, Cardirus Gel may cause side effects like application site reactions (burning sensation, itching), headache, and dizziness. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of Cardirus Gel. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Cardirus Gel may cause light-headedness or dizziness; hence, it is recommended not to drive or operate machinery until you are mentally alert. Cardirus Gel is for external use only.

Cardirus Gel works by relaxing the muscle around the anus, thereby reducing the anal pressure and increasing the blood flow to the area to allow healing.
Depending on the severity of the anal fissure, it may take several weeks to heal. Treatment generally continues for a maximum of eight weeks. In few cases, treatment may continue for longer than this if your condition is not improving.
Cardirus Gel is safe if used in the dose and duration recommended by your doctor. Use precisely as directed, and do not skip any dose. Follow your doctor's guidelines carefully and inform your doctor if any of the side effects disturb you.
Light-headedness could be a side-effect of Cardirus Gel. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking, instead lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better.
Please do not stop using Cardirus Gel without consulting your doctor on your own. Continue using Cardirus Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to treat your condition effectually. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while using Cardirus Gel.

Disease/Condition Glossary
Anal fissure: Anal fissure is a small tear in the mucosa that lines the anus which causes pain and bleeding during or after a bowel movement. Anal fissures generally heal independently, and if the condition lasts for more than 8 weeks, it can be considered chronic. Sometimes surgery may also be needed depending upon the condition. Symptoms include tear of skin around the anus region, burning sensation, pain, and blood during a bowel movement.
