About Cognix Tablet

Cognix Tablet belongs to the class of 'nootropics' primarily used to improve cognitive or mental function, especially in the people with neurodegenerative problems, traumatic brain injury or stroke. Cognix Tablet treat memory disorders, myoclonus (a movement disorder), anxiety disorder, dementia (memory loss) in Alzheimer's disease, vision problems, seizure disorder (epilepsy), dizziness (vertigo), and dyslexia (a learning disorder marked by difficulty reading). Myoclonus is a movement disorder that causes uncontrollable twitching and jerky movements of arms and legs. Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder that causes dementia (memory loss), and slowly destroys the ability to think, learn, communicate, and handle daily activities. 

Cognix Tablet contains two medicines: 'Ginkgo Biloba' and 'Piracetam.' Ginkgo Biloba is a herbal product widely used to treat memory issues, thought problems, anxiety and vision problems. Besides this, Ginkgo also acts as an antioxidant that works by improving blood circulation in the brain, eyes, ears, and legs, thus improving these organs' better functioning. On the other hand, Piracetam belongs to the chemical messenger class in the brain called GABA (gamma amino-butyric acid). It works by acting on the nervous system and brain, thereby protecting against shortness of oxygen, blood, and nutrients. It also improves the activity of a chemical messenger/neurotransmitter called acetylcholine and improves mental function, such as memory and thinking. 

Take Cognix Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Common side effects of Cognix Tablet include stomach upset, headache, dizziness, constipation, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, nervousness, and sleep changes. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Cognix Tablet or its components. If you are using any prescription and non-prescription medications, let your doctor know before starting Cognix Tablet . Inform your doctor beforehand if you have a history of liver, kidney or heart diseases. Drug Warnings

Brief your medical history if you have any liver or kidney diseases, Huntington's disease (brain disorder), heart problems, fits, diabetes, plant allergies, food allergies, and bleeding disorders before starting Cognix Tablet . Do not consume roasted seeds of Ginkgo plant since it is unsafe and leads to breathing difficulty and fits. Cognix Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy since Ginkgo biloba may cause premature labour or heaving bleeding during childbirth. Ginkgo also passes into breast milk. Hence, please consult your doctor if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Cognix Tablet as it might lead to increased dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery as Cognix Tablet may decrease your mental alertness, making you feel dizzy. Cognix Tablet is not recommended for children below eight years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established.

Cognix Tablet improves blood circulation, increases acetylcholine activity in the central nervous system and enhances the neurotransmission process. Thus, Cognix Tablet improves memory, thinking, and awareness after stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Cognix Tablet should be used with caution in the medical history of liver or kidney diseases, heart problems, fits, diabetes, plant allergies, food allergies, and bleeding disorders. Please let your doctor know if you have any other medical issues before starting Cognix Tablet .

It is advised to take Cognix Tablet with food to avoid any stomach upset.

Take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

Cognix Tablet may cause weight gain during the course. Follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly to maintain a proper weight. Consult your doctor if you notice sudden and drastic weight gain.

Special Advise

  • Use of Cognix Tablet  might slow blood clotting; hence, too much bleeding can occur if used before surgery. So, stop taking Cognix Tablet at least 2 weeks before any planned surgery.
  • Avoid using Cognix Tablet if you are taking any thyroid hormones, or you are on a low sodium diet. The advice of a doctor, in this case, is recommended. 
  • Do not use Cognix Tablet in case of brain haemorrhage or bleeding disorder.
