Ctclav CV-625 Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), Lyme disease, septicaemia (bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of the brain and spinal cord), lower respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, bone, and joint infections.
Ctclav CV-625 Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefuroxime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefuroxime against the bacteria. Together, Ctclav CV-625 Tablet helps to treat bacterial infections.
Take Ctclav CV-625 Tablet with or without food. The dose and duration of Ctclav CV-625 Tablet can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Before starting Ctclav CV-625 Tablet , please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take Ctclav CV-625 Tablet on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor before taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet if you are breastfeeding as Ctclav CV-625 Tablet may pass into breast milk. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet to prevent unpleasant side-effects.

Do not take Ctclav CV-625 Tablet on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor before taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet if you have colitis (inflammation of the colon). Ctclav CV-625 Tablet should be used with caution in patients receiving concurrent treatment with potent diuretics. Consult your doctor before taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet if you are breastfeeding as Ctclav CV-625 Tablet may pass into breast milk. Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Ctclav CV-625 Tablet . Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Do not stop taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet despite symptomatic relief. To treat your condition effectually continue taking Ctclav CV-625 Tablet for as long as it has been prescribed for you.
Do not take Ctclav CV-625 Tablet on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
Avoid taking antacid medicines along with Ctclav CV-625 Tablet as reduced gastric acidity might lower the effectiveness of Ctclav CV-625 Tablet .
Ctclav CV-625 Tablet contains cefuroxime which might interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptives (birth control pills). Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this; your doctor may suggest an alternate method of contraception.
