About Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml

Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml belongs to the class of ‘antispasmodic/anticholinergic/anti-muscarinic agents,’ primarily used to treat functional bowel or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml reduces spasms (sudden involuntary contraction) of the muscles in the stomach and intestines. Irritable bowel syndrome is an intestinal disorder that causes stomach pain, wind, constipation, and diarrhoea.

Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml contains ‘Dicyclomine,’ also known as Dicycloverine. Dicyclomine belongs to the class of ‘anticholinergic/anti-muscarinic agents’ with antispasmodic activity. Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml blocks the activity of acetylcholine (acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that sends signals to nerve cells) by binding to muscarinic receptors on smooth muscle. This process helps relax smooth muscles and inhibits natural gut movements. Thus it prevents spasms in the muscles of the stomach and intestine.

Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose based on your medical condition. It shows common side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, light-headedness, weakness, nervousness, blurred vision, dry mouth, nausea, constipation, and trouble sleeping. These side effects may not occur in every patient using this medication and differ individually. If the side effects persist longer or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you are allergic to any medications. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart disease, or other medical histories before receiving Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml. Some antacids may inhibit the absorption of Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml; hence maintain a time gap between the intake of antacids and Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml. Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml may cause blurred vision, dizziness and drowsiness; hence do not drive or operate machinery until you feel better. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant and breastfeeding before taking Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml. This medicine is not recommended for children below six months of age.

How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Anticholinergic substances can make several autonomic neuropathy symptoms worse, such as tachycardia, anhidrosis, and male sexual impotence. In individuals with autonomic neuropathy, antimuscarinic therapy and stronger antispasmodic dosages should be used with caution.

How to manage the interaction:
Higher dosages of Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml should be used with caution in patients with autonomic neuropathy (damage to the nerves that control automatic body functions).
DICYCLOMINE-10MGParalytic ileus and intestinal obstruction without hernia

How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Anticholinergic medications should not be used in people with obstructive illnesses such achalasia. Anticholinergics may further reduce intestinal motility, causing a toxic megacolon to develop or worsen as a result.

How to manage the interaction:
Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml is contraindicated in patients with obstructive diseases such as achalasia (difficulty in passing food and liquid into the stomach), oesophagal stricture or stenosis (abnormal tightening or narrowing of the food pipe), pyloroduodenal stenosis (narrowing of the opening from the stomach to the first part of the small intestine called pylorus), stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloric obstruction, and paralytic ileus (muscle contractions that move food through your intestines are temporarily paralyzed).
DICYCLOMINE-10MGGlaucoma

How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Patients with primary glaucoma, a propensity for glaucoma, or adhesions between the iris and lens, as well as the elderly and other people who may have undiagnosed glaucoma or high eye pressure, should not use anticholinergic medications. Anticholinergics may make these problems worse because they produce mydriasis.

How to manage the interaction:
Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml is contraindicated in patients with primary glaucoma, a tendency toward glaucoma (narrow anterior chamber angle), or adhesions (synechiae) between the iris and lens, as well as for the elderly and others in whom undiagnosed glaucoma or excessive pressure in the eye may be present as this medicine may worsen these conditions.
DICYCLOMINE-10MGNeuromuscular dysfunction of bladder, not elsewhere classified
Severe
How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Patients with urine retention and bladder neck obstruction brought on by prostatic hypertrophy should not take anticholinergic medications. Dysuria is a possibility that might call for catheterization. Anticholinergic medications may also make partial obstructive uropathy worse.

How to manage the interaction:
Use of anticholinergic agents such as Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml is contraindicated in patients with urinary retention and bladder-neck obstruction caused by prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate gland).
DICYCLOMINE-10MGMyasthenia gravis and other myoneural disorders
Severe
How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Antimuscarinic medications are not advised for use in people with myasthenia gravis since they have anticholinergic effects. It may be suitable to use them to lessen the negative muscarinic effects brought on by an anticholinesterase drug.

How to manage the interaction:
Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml is contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis (skeletal muscle weakness).
DICYCLOMINE-10MGCerebral infarction
Severe
How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Patients who have an acute bleeding and an unstable circulatory condition should not receive Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml therapy.

DICYCLOMINE-10MGDystonia
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml:
Tardive dyskinesia can be made worse by anticholinergic medications and medications with secondary anticholinergic effect. If symptoms of tardive dyskinesia appear or get worse while you are on an anticholinergic medication, stopping the medication right away will increase your chances of curing the illness.

How to manage the interaction:
Cyclopam Injection 5 x 2 ml should be used with caution in patients with preexisting tardive dyskinesia (involuntary repetitive body movements), particularly in the elderly. If tardive dyskinesia symptoms develop or worsen during treatment with this medicine, stopping the medication will provide better chance of improving the condition.
