Dilevocet Plus Tablet is a respiratory medication used to treat common cold symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, stuffy nose or watery eyes. The virus enters the body through nose, mouth or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs or talks.

Dilevocet Plus Tablet consists of three medicines, namely: Levocetirizine,  Pseudoephedrine, and Ambroxol. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergic) drug that reduces the effects of histamine, a chemical substance that causes allergies like runny nose and skin rash. Pseudoephedrine belongs to the class of decongestant drugs that works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in your nose. This helps mucus and airflow more freely in the cavities in your nose (sinuses), helping you breathe more easily. Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in lungs, windpipe and nose.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your infection. Do not stop taking Dilevocet Plus Tablet on your own until the doctor advised you to do so. Like every other medication, Dilevocet Plus Tablet also has common side effects like vomiting, dryness in the mouth, stomach upset, headache, sleepiness, restlessness, sleep disturbances and allergic reactions. These side effects, if occurred, generally go away during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

It is mandatory to inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, stomach ulcer, prostate enlargement, urinary retention, diabetes and eye disorders like cataract and glaucoma before taking Dilevocet Plus Tablet. • Take Dilevocet Plus Tablet as directed by the doctor and at regular intervals. Do not use other over the counter medications, herbal or vitamin supplements without informing your pharmacist or doctor when you take Dilevocet Plus Tablet.
• Know your triggers like allergens, such as pollen, dust and food items that make your asthma and other respiratory diseases severe.
• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking.
• Drink warm fluids while you take Dilevocet Plus Tablet to help loosen congestion.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol with Dilevocet Plus Tablet as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness or lack of concentration.

• Regularly monitor your blood sugar levels while using Dilevocet Plus Tablet since decongestants like Pseudoephedrine can increase blood glucose levels.
• Consult your diabetologist if you have diabetes before using Dilevocet Plus Tablet so that your insulin or other diabetic medication can be adjusted accordingly to maintain your blood sugar levels.
