Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet is a respiratory medication used to treat common cold symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, stuffy nose or watery eyes. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects nose and throat and is caused by viruses known as 'rhinoviruses'. The virus enters the body through nose, mouth or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs or talks.

Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet consists of three medicines, namely: Levocetirizine,  Pseudoephedrine, and Ambroxol. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergic) drug that reduces the effects of histamine, a chemical substance that causes allergies like runny nose and skin rash. Pseudoephedrine belongs to the class of decongestant drugs that works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in your nose. This helps mucus and airflow more freely in the cavities in your nose (sinuses), helping you breathe more easily. Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in lungs, windpipe and nose.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your infection. Do not stop taking Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet on your own until the doctor advised you to do so. Like every other medication, Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet also has common side effects like vomiting, dryness in the mouth, stomach upset, headache, sleepiness, restlessness, sleep disturbances and allergic reactions. These side effects, if occurred, generally go away during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

• Take Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet as directed by the doctor and at regular intervals. Do not use other over the counter medications, herbal or vitamin supplements without informing your pharmacist or doctor when you take Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet.
• Know your triggers like allergens, such as pollen, dust and food items that make your asthma and other respiratory diseases severe.
• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking.
• Drink warm fluids while you take Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet to help loosen congestion.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol with Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness or lack of concentration.

• Regularly monitor your blood sugar levels while using Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet since decongestants like Pseudoephedrine can increase blood glucose levels.
• Consult your diabetologist if you have diabetes before using Floramin AP 5 mg/60 mg/30 mg Tablet so that your insulin or other diabetic medication can be adjusted accordingly to maintain your blood sugar levels.
