Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.
Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop contains Ofloxacin which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears infection.
Use Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop as prescribed by your doctor. Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.
You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop.
Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.
You are not recommended to stop using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Earzet OF 0.3% Eye Drop, please consult your doctor.
