About EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's

EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's belongs to a class of drugs called antiemetics used to prevent nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness of the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's contains Palonosetron which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.

Take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness or headache. Drug-Drug Interaction: EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet 10's may interact with antidepressants (citalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, escitalopram, duloxetine, venlafaxine), heart-related drugs or high blood pressure (quinidine, amiodarone, nicardipine), antibiotics (moxifloxacin, erythromycin), antiemetic (domperidone), antipsychotic drugs (thioridazine, quetiapine, chlorpromazine, haloperidol).
