EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called antiemetics used to prevent nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness of the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.
EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet contains Palonosetron which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.
Take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness or headache. Most of these side effects of EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet is not recommended for children. You are not recommended to take erythromycin with EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet as it may increase the risk of severe irregular heart rhythm. However, please consult your doctor before taking other medicines with EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet .
EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet may cause constipation as a side effect. It is not necessary for everyone taking EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet to experience this side effect. However, if the condition persists or worsens, please consult a doctor.
