About EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet

EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called antiemetics used to prevent nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness of the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet contains Palonosetron which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.

Take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness or headache. Most of these side effects of EME OD 0.5 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Tablet/Capsule: Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.Tablet MD: Place the tablet in your mouth and do not swallow it. Allow it to melt completely. Do not handle the tablet with wet hands.
