About Eslo-Met-5 Tablet

Eslo-Met-5 Tablet belongs to the group of antihypertensive agents used to treat high blood pressure/hypertension and angina pectoris. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Angina is basically a pain in the heart and chest.

Eslo-Met-5 Tablet contains Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. Metoprolol succinate works by slowing down the heart rate, thereby making it more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow. Together, Eslo-Met-5 Tablet helps treat high blood pressure.

Take Eslo-Met-5 Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, Eslo-Met-5 Tablet may cause certain common side effects such as tiredness, dizziness, headache, ankle swelling and slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed in case you are due to undergo any surgery or dental procedure. Avoid consuming alcohol with Eslo-Met-5 Tablet as there may be an interaction. Eslo-Met-5 Tablet  may cause dizziness, therefore, drive only if you are alert.

Uses of Eslo-Met-5 Tablet

Hypertension, Angina pectoris

Directions for Use

Take Eslo-Met-5 Tablet with or without food as directed by the physician. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Medicinal Benefits

Eslo-Met-5 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. It is used primarily to treat hypertension and to relax the blood vessels for seamless flow of blood. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that eases the symptoms of hypertension by blocking catecholamines that lead to increased pressure and heart rate. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that decreases blood pressure by preventing the influx of calcium ions into cells and by enlarging and relaxing arteries. In addition, Eslo-Met-5 Tablet also reduces the oxygen demands of the heart, relaxing the heart and blood vessels and requiring the heart to do less work.

Storage

Keep Eslo-Met-5 Tablet out of the sight and reach of children.
