F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 belongs to the class of medications called ‘antidepressants' primarily used for the treatment of depression, which is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Depression is also called a major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to various emotional and physical problems.

F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 contains a combination of two medicines called alprazolam and fluoxetine. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) that increases the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases serotonin levels, a chemical messenger that improves mood.

Take this F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it. F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, confusion, memory impairment, drowsiness, tiredness, low sexual desire, and uncoordinated body movements. These side effects do not require any medical attention and resolve on their own. If any of these effects persist, contact your doctor immediately.

If you are known to be allergic to F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not take F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it may cause adverse effects in the baby. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, closed-angle glaucoma, cardiac diseases, bleeding disorders, epilepsy and electro-convulsive therapy before taking F&A Forte SR Tablet 1. Also, inform your doctor about diabetes and pulmonary insufficiency before taking F&A Forte SR Tablet 1.

• Follow a regular sleep pattern. Do not take a nap during day time.

• Avoid watching TV and using mobiles or laptops just before bedtime.

• Maintain a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid fried foods, high-fat dairy products, pastries, and processed foods, as they may worsen anxiety.

• To boost your mental health, dark green leafy vegetables, in particular, are brain protective. Nuts, seeds, and legumes, such as beans and lentils, are also excellent brain foods.

• Do regular exercise 

• Avoid the consumption of alcohol as it may increase drowsiness.

• Do not take F&A Forte SR Tablet 1 for a prolonged time as it may lead to mental or physical dependence on F&A Forte SR Tablet 1.
