About Fastorik Tablet

Fastorik Tablet is a combination medicine used to relieve symptoms of cold, flu and allergies such as the runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion, fever and blocked sinuses. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects the nose and throat. It is mostly caused by a virus known as rhinovirus.

Fastorik Tablet contains Paracetamol (Analgesic), Triprolidine (Antihistamine) and Pseudoephedrine (Decongestant). Paracetamol blocks the release of chemical messengers that cause pain and fever. Triprolidine reduces the effects of histamine, which causes watery eyes, runny nose and sneezing. Pseudoephedrine works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in the nose. This helps you to breathe more easily. Together, Fastorik Tablet helps in providing relief from cold symptoms.

Take Fastorik Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Fastorik Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation and headache. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Fastorik Tablet contains paracetamol, do not take any other products containing paracetamol along with Fastorik Tablet unless prescribed. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Fastorik Tablet is not recommended for children below 4 years as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Fastorik Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Fastorik Tablet as it could cause increased dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.

Do not take Fastorik Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or have taken them in the last 14 days. Fastorik Tablet contains paracetamol, do not take any other products containing paracetamol along with Fastorik Tablet unless prescribed. Inform your doctor if you have asthma, COPD, blockage in the stomach or intestine, high blood pressure, enlarged prostate or urinary problems, glaucoma, diabetes, overactive thyroid, pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal gland), heart, kidney or liver impairment. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Fastorik Tablet is not recommended for children below 4 years as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Co-administration of Fastorik Tablet with Selegiline can increase the blood pressure.

However, if you have joint pain or swelling, fever, chills, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, over-tiredness, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, dark-colored urine, light-colored stools, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes, contact a doctor immediately as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.

Fastorik Tablet may be used to relieve allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny/stuffy nose, throat irritation or watery eyes. Fastorik Tablet contains Triprolidine, an antihistamine that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Fastorik Tablet. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent mouth drying.

Fastorik Tablet may be used to relieve pain and fever. Fastorik Tablet contains paracetamol, an analgesic (relieves pain) and antipyretic (reduces fever) that inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers in the brain known as prostaglandins which are responsible for pain and fever.

Fastorik Tablet should not be taken for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor. If your condition does not improve despite taking Fastorik Tablet for a week, consult your doctor, he/she may prescribe an alternate medicine.
