About Floxol Ophthalmic Solution

Floxol Ophthalmic Solution belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Floxol Ophthalmic Solution contains Ofloxacin which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears infection.

Use Floxol Ophthalmic Solution as prescribed by your doctor. Floxol Ophthalmic Solution is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Floxol Ophthalmic Solution for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of Floxol Ophthalmic Solution do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Floxol Ophthalmic Solution or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Floxol Ophthalmic Solution should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Floxol Ophthalmic Solution. Drive only if your vision is clear as Floxol Ophthalmic Solution may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using Floxol Ophthalmic Solution. 

Uses of Floxol Ophthalmic Solution

Bacterial eye infections

Directions for Use

Floxol Ophthalmic Solution is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Floxol Ophthalmic Solution. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Floxol Ophthalmic Solution.Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Sleep for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day. Do not wash your eyes if you have undergone any eye surgery for at least 2 weeks. 
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
