Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm is a combination of two drugs, namely: Fluticasone furoate (corticosteroid) and Azelastine hydrochloride (antihistamine/antiallergic). Fluticasone furoate prevents the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. On the other hand, Azelastine hydrochloride works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Together, Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm provides relief from allergic symptoms.

Directions for Use

Check the label for directions before using Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm. Insert the tip of the bottle into a nostril while closing the other nostril and spray the medicine towards the sides of the nostril. Keep your head straight and breathe gently. Repeat the same process for another nostril.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm may interact with antidepressants (duloxetine, escitalopram), anticonvulsants (pregabalin), HIV/AIDS drug (ritonavir), antifungals (ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole) and anti-allergy drugs (cetirizine).

Drug-Food Interaction: Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm may interact with grapefruit juice. Therefore, avoid intake of grapefruit juice with Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm as it may lead to adrenal insufficiency and Cushing’s syndrome. Also, avoid consumption of alcohol with Furamist AZ Nasal Spray 9.8 gm as it may cause increased drowsiness, dizziness, and impairment of judgement and thinking.
