Kephazon 1gm I.V contains Cefoperazone. It binds to specific PBPs (penicillin-binding proteins) located inside the bacterial cell wall, causing the inhibition of the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is necessary for their survival. Thus it kills bacteria and helps treat bacterial infections.
Kephazon 1gm I.V will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Sometimes, Kephazon 1gm I.V may cause injection site reactions, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headaches and rash. Most of these side effects of Kephazon 1gm I.V do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, contact your doctor if the side effects persist or bother you.

Kephazon 1gm I.V contains Cefoperazone. Cefoperazone is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin that has been proposed to be useful against Pseudomonas infections. It is a third-generation antibiotic drug used to treat bacterial infections produced by susceptible organisms in the body, such as respiratory tract infections, peritonitis, skin infections, endometritis, and bacterial septicemia. It works by inhibiting the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is necessary for their survival. Thus, it kills bacteria and helps treat bacterial infections.
Avoid taking Kephazon 1gm I.V if you are allergic to any of its components. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience any allergic reactions after taking Kephazon 1gm I.V. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you take and your health conditions, especially colitis (inflammation in the colon's lining) and hypoprothrombinaemia (decreased prothrombin production), to rule out any unpleasant side effects. Antibiotic resistance develops when bacteria gain the ability to resist the treatment that was designed to kill them. This can be avoided by complying with the dose and duration of therapy as suggested by your doctor. Even if your symptoms improve after a few doses of Cefoperazone, complete the entire course of medication.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Kephazon 1gm I.V may interact with vaccines (BCG vaccine, Cholera vaccine live, Typhoid vaccine live) and certain types of antibiotics (e.g. rifampin or rifampicin).
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid the consumption of alcohol or alcoholic beverages.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have colitis (inflammation in the colon's lining), hypoprothrombinaemia (decreased prothrombin production), alcoholism, dialysis, and kidney or liver dysfunction.
