About Nebistar-H Tablet

Nebistar-H Tablet belongs to the class of anti-hypertensives primarily taken to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce stroke risk in patients with high blood pressure. Nebistar-H Tablet is a combination medication generally used when a single medicine cannot control high blood pressure. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a life-long or chronic condition in which the force exerted against the artery wall becomes too high. It can lead to the risk of heart diseases like heart attack and stroke.

Nebistar-H Tablet contains nebivolol and hydrochlorothiazide. Nebivolol is a beta blocker that works on the heart particularly to lower heart rate and make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. The diuretic hydrochlorothiazide lowers blood pressure by removing excess water and electrolytes from the body. It also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow over time.

Nebistar-H Tablet should be taken as the doctor prescribes based on your medical condition. You may experience nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, fatigue, headache, dizziness, decreased potassium level in the blood, increased blood uric acid, altered blood lipid level, breathlessness, swelling of hands & feet, paresthesia (burning sensation of the skin), decreased magnesium level in the blood, increased calcium level in blood. Most of these side effects of Nebistar-H Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before taking the Nebistar-H Tablet , let your doctor know about all your allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to medicines or food. Before taking Nebistar-H Tablet , inform your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking to rule out any potential negative effects. It is recommended not to take Nebistar-H Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Medicinal Benefits

Nebistar-H Tablet is a combination of Nebivolol (beta-blockers/ blood pressure-lowering medicines) and Hydrochlorothiazide (thiazide diuretic or water pill). Nebivolol is a beta blocker that works on the heart specifically to lower heart rate and make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. The diuretic hydrochlorothiazide lowers blood pressure by removing excess water and electrolytes from the body. It also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow over time. Thus Nebistar-H Tablet lowers blood pressure and prevents the risk of stroke, heart attack and oedema (fluid overload).

Disease/Condition Glossary

Hypertension: The blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to hypertension. High blood pressure is expressed as systolic/diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats or pumps out blood. Diastolic pressure is the pressure in the arteries between the heartbeats. Blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) by a blood pressure monitor called a sphygmomanometer. Some of the symptoms are headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, altered vision, chest pain, weakness, and shortness of breath. However, most of the time, the signs and symptoms of hypertension are none.
