Angina pectoris is discomfort in the chest or chest pain, which generally occurs due to coronary artery disease (CAD) when an adequate amount of oxygen and blood is not reaching the heart and its muscles. It can also be due to the blockage of the heart's arteries. It helps prevent any further attack of angina by making the heart work more efficiently.

NITREN 30MG/75MG CAPSULE is a combination of medication containing Isosorbide Mononitrate and aspirin. Isosorbide Mononitrate is a powerful vasodilator (widens blood vessels). It works by forming the free radical nitric oxide (NO) inside our body which leads to relaxation of the muscles of blood vessels, especially of the heart leading to proper blood flow towards the heart muscle, which has been working under immense pressure due to decreased blood flow to it. Aspirin has an antithrombotic action that interferes with platelet functioning and does not let them stick together, thus helping to prevent or reduce blood clots. Altogether, NITREN 30MG/75MG CAPSULE is helpful in treating and preventing episodes of angina.

Drug-Drug Interaction: NITREN 30MG/75MG CAPSULE may interact with medicines used to treat male erection dysfunction (Sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil), anticancer drug (methotrexate), medicine for psoriasis (ciclosporin), drug used for termination of pregnancy (mifepristone), antiasthma drug (zafirlukast), Antacids, anticonvulsant (sodium valproate), vasodilator (nitroglycerin), blood pressure medications including calcium channel blockers (nifedipine), blood thinners (warfarin).
