About Pancimeg Tablet

Pancimeg Tablet belongs to a class of medicine called 'digestive enzymes' or 'pancreatic enzyme supplement' prescribed to treat indigestion and bloating due to pancreas problems. Pancimeg Tablet is prescribed for people whose bodies do not make enough of their own enzymes to digest their food. Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is the inability to digest food properly due to the pancreas' lack of a digestive enzyme. 

Pancimeg Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Pancreatin (digestive enzyme) and Dimethicone (anti-flatulent). Pancimeg Tablet contains Pancreatin which is a digestive enzyme that helps in the digestion of food. Pancreatin contains ‘pancreatin enzymes’ breakdown food and converts it into energy. On the other hand, Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitates the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.

Take Pancimeg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Pancimeg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating. Most of these side effects of Pancimeg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Inform your doctor before taking Pancimeg Tablet if you have gout, asthma, cystic fibrosis (a disease that affects the lungs and digestive system), or any disease condition. Please also inform if you have a history of rapid onset of pancreatitis or worsening of a long-term difficulty with your pancreas. Pancimeg Tablet might interfere with the absorption and reduce folic acid and iron; maintain a minimum gap between both. Consult your doctor before taking Pancimeg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pancimeg Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Pancimeg Tablet can be given to children if prescribed by the doctor; the dose depends upon the child’s age and body weight.

Consult your doctor if you experience stomach pain, swelling, constipation, and vomiting as patients taking Pancimeg Tablet with cystic fibrosis may develop a rare bowel condition called fibrosing colonopathy. Pancimeg Tablet might interfere with the absorption and reduce folic acid and iron; maintain a minimum gap between both. Yes, the use of Pancimeg Tablet can lead to diarrhoea. In the case of diarrhoea, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small regular sips. Also, avoid taking fried or fatty foods along with this Pancimeg Tablet . Consult your doctor if diarrhoea continues and you notice signs of dehydration, like less urination with strong-smelling and dark coloured urine.
