About PEPSIGARD P GEL
PEPSIGARD P GEL belongs to a class of medication called gastrointestinal agents used to treat duodenal ulcers, nausea, and vomiting. Duodenal ulcer is a peptic ulcer that develops in the duodenum (first part of the small intestine) due to erosion of the stomach's protective lining. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.
PEPSIGARD P GEL is a combination of two drugs: Sucralfate (gastrointestinal protectant) and Domperidone (antinausea agent). Sucralfate belongs to the protectants class which forms a protective layer over the ulcer and protects the stomach from an ulcer due to excess stomach acid, thereby healing it. Together they prevent ulcers, nausea, and vomiting.
