About Perinorm Syrup
Perinorm Syrup is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat nausea and vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps in the treatment of indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.
Perinorm Syrup contains metoclopramide which belongs to prokinetic agents. It works by blocking the messages between the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and the vomiting centre in the brain. This helps prevent and treat nausea and vomiting.
Perinorm Syrup may cause dry mouth as a side effect. This can resolve over time. If this side effect worsens or bothers your child please consult your paediatrician. Perinorm Syrup should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. Perinorm Syrup can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your paediatrician depending on the severity of the condition.
Perinorm Syrup is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Perinorm Syrup to your child if she/he is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition including his current medications and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. If your child has liver or kidney problems, inform your doctor before using Perinorm Syrup.
