About Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule

Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule belongs to a class of medicines known as 'cardiovascular agents' primarily used to prevent heart attack and stroke, especially in patients after bypass heart surgery. A heart attack occurs when a blood clot blocks the blood flow to the heart. This blockage of arteries is often an accumulation of fat, cholesterol and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries).

Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule is composed of three medicines, namely: Aspirin, clopidogrel, rosuvastatin. Aspirin and clopidogrel together act as a blood-thinning agent (or anti-platelet agent) to prevent heart attack and stroke. They help to prevent blood clots by preventing the clubbing of platelets together. Rosuvastatin belongs to the class of drugs known as a cholesterol-lowering agent which works by blocking liver enzymes, causing the liver to make less cholesterol. Rosuvastatin lowers the bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein or LDL) levels and increases good cholesterol levels (high-density lipoprotein or HDL) in the bloodstream. Thus, Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule helps in the free flow of blood without forming any clog in the blood vessel's arteries, thereby preventing a heart attack, stroke and other peripheral vascular diseases.

Take Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. You may experience increased bleeding tendency, indigestion, abdominal pain, nosebleeds, weakness, muscle pain, headache, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal bleeding and nausea. Most of these side effects of Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Try not to stop taking this medicine of your own. Stopping Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule may worsen your condition and increase the risk of a future heart attack. Let your doctor know if you are allergic to Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule or any ingredients of Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule . Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule should not be taken in the conditions like kidney/liver diseases, asthma, active bleeding issues (like peptic ulcer, brain haemorrhage), gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes and musculoskeletal disorder. If you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding, it is essential to seek medical advice before starting Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule . Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience dizziness or drowsiness while using Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule . Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule is not recommended for children below the age of 16 years.

Medicinal Benefits

Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule is used to prevent myocardial infarction (heart attack), stroke or peripheral vascular disease. It also lowers abnormally elevated cholesterol or fat levels (dyslipidemia) in the body. Recotor-Gold 20 Capsule is composed of three medicines, namely: Aspirin, clopidogrel, rosuvastatin. Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) and anti-platelet drug that decreases blood clot formation by preventing the platelets from clubbing together. It is also used in heart-related revascularization procedures (provision of new blood supply to a body part), such as coronary artery bypass graft to improve the blood flow through the revascularized area. Clopidogrel acts by preventing blood clots if you have severe chest pain (unstable angina or heart attack), stroke and peripheral arterial disease (heart problem due to narrow veins). Rosuvastatin is an antilipemic agent (cholesterol-lowering). It works by blocking liver enzymes, causing the liver to make less cholesterol. It also lowers the bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein or LDL) levels and increases good cholesterol levels (high-density lipoprotein or HDL) in the blood. Rosuvastatin reduces the risk of coronary events, such as heart attack, stroke and angina (chest pain).

Disease/Condition Glossary

Heart attack: It occurs when a blood clot blocks the blood flow to the heart. This blockage of arteries is often an accumulation of fat, cholesterol and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries). During a heart attack (myocardial infarction), the blood supply which nourishes the heart with oxygen is cut off. Heart attack signs include chest pain, upper body pain, sweating, nausea, fatigue and trouble breathing.

Stroke: It occurs when a blockage of blood supply to a part of the brain prevents brain tissues from getting enough oxygen and nutrients.

Angina: It is a type of heart-related chest pain which occurs due to reduced or blocked blood flow to the heart. This is a common sign and symptom of coronary artery disease in which arteries get clogged due to the deposition of an excessive amount of cholesterol in the heart's arteries.
