About Rectol 250 mg Suppository

Rectol 250 mg Suppository belongs to the group of analgesics (pain killers), and antipyretics (fever-reducing agents) used to treat mild to moderate pain and fever in adults and children weighing at least 7kgs. Pain and fever are caused by the activation of pain receptors due to the release of certain natural chemicals in the body like prostaglandins.

Rectol 250 mg Suppository contains 'Paracetamol' which prevents the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation. Thus, relieves pain. Rectol 250 mg Suppository also acts as an antipyretic agent by affecting the chemical messengers in the brain that regulate body temperature. Thereby, reduces fever.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Rectol 250 mg Suppository based on your condition. In some cases, Rectol 250 mg Suppository may cause side effects like rash, soreness in or around the rectum/anus, and itching. Most of these side effects do not necessitate medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult a doctor.

Do not take Rectol 250 mg Suppository if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, alcoholism, infections or any other medical conditions. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not exceed the recommended dosage as an overdose may be injurious to the liver.
