Pain and fever are caused by the activation of pain receptors due to the release of certain natural chemicals in the body like prostaglandins. 

Metacin 250 mg Suppositories contains 'Paracetamol' which prevents the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation. Thus, relieves pain. Metacin 250 mg Suppositories also acts as an antipyretic agent by affecting the chemical messengers in the brain that regulate body temperature. Thereby, reduces fever.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Metacin 250 mg Suppositories based on your condition. In some cases, Metacin 250 mg Suppositories may cause side effects like rash, soreness in or around the rectum/anus, and itching. Drug-Drug Interactions: Metacin 250 mg Suppositories may interact with blood thinners (warfarin), anti-viral (zidovudine), anti-gout (probenecid), antibiotic (chloramphenicol), bile acid sequestrants (cholestyramine), prokinetic agent (metoclopramide), anti-nausea (domperidone), and oral contraceptives.

• Rest well, and get plenty of sleep.

• Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.

• To avoid developing pressure sores, change your position at least every two hours.

• Hot or cold therapy can help treat pain. Apply an ice pack or hot pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.
