About REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML belongs to the class of anti-malarial drugs primarily used to treat malaria. Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite transmitted by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. When an infected mosquito bites a healthy person, it transmits the 'Plasmodium parasite' into the bloodstream, which affects the red blood cells and liver cells. Malaria symptoms usually start ten days to 4 weeks after the infection. They include chills, high fever, profuse sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, anaemia, muscle pain, convulsions, coma, and bloody stools. REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML is only used to treat malaria but does not prevent it.

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML contains Quinine, which treats malaria. It treats malaria by increasing the levels of hemozoin (a toxic substance to the malarial parasite) in the blood. As a result, it kills the parasite and helps to stop the infection from spreading further.

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional; hence do not self-administer. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects like injection site reactions, nausea, restlessness, visual disturbances, vertigo (sudden internal or external spinning sensation), difficulty hearing or ringing in the ears, confusion and nervousness. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and all medications you are using. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML will affect your ability to drive or operate machinery; hence, avoid driving or using machinery. It is recommended not to consume any alcoholic beverages to rule out any possibility of side effects.

You should not take REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML if you have or ever had a heart rhythm disorder called Long QT syndrome, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G-6-PD), myasthenia gravis (a muscle disorder), optic neuritis (inflammation of the nerves in your eyes) if taking REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML in the past ever caused bleeding.

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML can cause a lowering of blood sugar levels. So, if you are diabetic, please inform your doctor before starting treatment with REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML, and dose adjustment might be required depending upon your medical condition.

REZQ 300MG INJECTION 1ML may affect the heart rhythm and cause QT prolongation (heart muscle takes longer than usual to recharge between beats). This QT prolongation can cause a serious fast/irregular heartbeat. Hence it is advised to inform your doctor if you have any heart-related problems like heart failure, slow heartbeat, QT prolongation in EKG or ECG (electrocardiogram) and a family history of heart diseases.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency is a hereditary condition that affects red blood cells. A defect in an enzyme called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in affected individuals causes red blood cells to break down prematurely. It leads to hemolytic anaemia, which happens when red blood cells are destroyed faster than the body can replenish them.
